  • What can I host on BlurryFox?
    • In short pretty much anything you want, providing it can be run under the Linux operating system and does not contravene our terms and conditions.
      Examples can be found in the Products section. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.
  • Can I have root or administrator access to the server?
    • Unfortunately not, root or administrator access is not allowed on our servers under any circumstances
  • Do you offer an email service?
    • Yes we do, in fact many of our packages include email as standard.
      Have a look at our Hosting Packages.
      Our email service includes virus and anti-spam (junk email) protection as standard.
  • How much does hosting with you cost?
    • This depends on what it is you want hosting, and what additional features you require.
      If our standard packages do not meet your needs then we will be happy to put together a special price for the service you require. contact us with your requirements.
  • What does the load on server mean?
    • This is designed to provide an indication of how much load our server is under, in other words how much work it is doing.
      The lower the load the more responsive the server is. Our intention is that the server load should always remain low, thereby ensuring the best responce times for your application or website.
      When the server load begins to rise we take steps to ensure resources are divided fairly amoungst all our users.
  • Do you offer support for .asp?
    • We do not offer support for .asp at the current time.
      Should there be sufficient demand we will look to add it. If you require server side scripting we offer support for PHP and MySQL
  • Do you price match?
    • We always aim to offer competitively priced services, however, we except that we may not always have the lowest price service available.
      If you can supply a URL (website address) of a company offering a similar product at a lower price we will see what we can do.
      We regret we are unable to price match other companies special offers.
  • Can I have my own IP address?
    • This depends on exactly what it is you want to host. We can offer a unique socket (IP address + port number). We only have a limited number of IP addresses available for our customers.
      If you do need a unique IP address please get in touch and we will do our best to help.
  • Do you offer telephone support?
    • In order to offer the most competitive prices we have adopted a support model that promotes electronic communication, mainly through email.
      We have found that we are able to resolve around 95% of user queries this way. If do wish to discuss your needs then we are more than happy to call you. Use the contact form and we will arrange a time when to discuss your issue.
      Customer satisfaction is always our one concern and we always work with our customers in a way that suits them to resolve a problem.
  • I cannot find any gaming packages on the website, can I still have one?
    • Yes, We started to list gaming packages but found that there were just too many variables; what suits one gamer doesn’t suit another.
      Contact us and we will build a package just for you, for much less than you might expect!
  • How reliable is your service?
    • Since we launched in 2004 we have recorded less than 30 minutes total downtime, of which less than 10 minutes was unplanned. Our equipment is monitored 24/7, allowing us to react quickly to any issues.
      We are yet to record a complaint related to hardware or software availabilty, a feat which we are extremely proud.
  • Can I pay by credit / debit card?
    • At the current time we only accept paymeny by PayPal and Nochex. Credit / debit cards have a lot of overheads which we would have to either absorb or pass on to you as our customers.
      This way we can keep our costs down and pass the savings on to you. Both PayPal and Nochex are fully secure and we have never had any problems using either of them.
  • Your packages seem a little restrictive, can I build my own?
    • All of our packages are just a simple guides. If they suit your needs then feel free to buy ‘off the shelf’. If you need something specific get in touch and we will be only too happy to help. This applies for all our packages, not just shells.
  • Can I access my email using a web browser (like Hotmail or Yahoo)?
    • Certainly, Our Webmail application can be found here: https://www.blurryfox.com/webmail/
      You will need the same user name and password that you use to access our other services.
